T-QUARTET, 3″, Dark
Called T-Quartette by the Ladies Art Company, this is another old block that dates back to c. 1895. It was also called Tete a Tete by Hearth and Home in the same general time frame.
The fascinating thing about this block is that it creates a tessellation, that is a repeating interlocking pattern. Jinny Beyer is the quilter’s expert on tessellating designs, and I know I’ve spent many hours studying her book from 1999, Designing Tessellations. Here’s a primer from Jinny’s website.
