December 1 – Lazy Sunday Lily

LAZY SUNDAY, 6″ or 12″

Today’s Block

This is one of the Corner Flowers I designed 18 months ago when I first started working on the 365 Challenge. As you know, that first design (pictured at the side) was more about communicating a general idea, than a prescriptive pattern, and at the time, I threw together some Corner Flowers knowing in the back of my mind that I would revisit them.

I considered the blocks at the bottom of the quilt to be ‘too chunky”. By the time I had designed the third Floral Corner, that was definitely the case. But these blocks were much easier to piece than the challenging blocks that replaced them!

So here is one of them, which I’ve called Lazy Sunday, due to the drooping lilies, looking decidedly lazy to me! It is attached here in a 12″ x 12″ version, if you want to use it as a corner, and as a 6″ x 6″ version, if you’d like to make it as a bonus light block.
